Seventh Suite For Band
Alfred Reed brings us yet another significant work for the concert band repertoire. Since the year 2003 is the centenary of the Wright brothers' first flights, this work commemorates "A Century of Flight" as well as celebrating the opening of a new airport in Wajima, Japan. It is composed in 3 movements: I - Prologue: "Look to the Skies!", II - Intermezzo: "The Winds And Waves Of Wajima" and III - March: "With the Wings Of Eagles". Estimated Performance Time: 10:23 Technical Notes: The piccolo part is labeled "Piccolo (Flute)". The 1st percussion part is for snare drum and bass drum. The 2nd percussion part is for crash cymbal and suspended cymbal. The keyboard percussion part is labeled "Mallet Percussion" and is for bells and chimes.
