The signature drum lick can be found, but with a few twists. Arranger Bill Calhoun has used his skill as a percussionist to design a great new version of this classic tune. Hang Ten, Dude!! Technical Notes: An optional baritone B.C. part can be played in place of the electric bass. This part and the baritone saxophone part double the tuba part. The optional E Flat alto saxophone doubles the low brass and woodwind #1 part. The bells/xylophone part is labeled "mallet percussion" on the score. The "Pops For Marching Band Series" has a unique feature which allows the band director to customize the arrangement to fit their band in the lower voices. Each arrangement is published with two lower brass and woodwind parts, #1 and #2, printed in both bass and treble clefs. Also, an optional wind part #1. This will allow the band diretor to assign trombones, baritones, tenor saxes, and even some alto saxes (if necessary) to balance the lower brass and woodwind sound.
