American Woman
This song, recently made famous by Lenny Kravitz, would be an exciting piece that you should think about for next fall. It will have everybody rockin'! Technical Notes: The electric bass can be played by an optional baritone B.C. and doubles the tuba. The multiple bass drums part is for four pitches. The bells/xylophone part is labeled "mallet percussion" in the score. The auxiliary percussion part is for tambourine. The "Pops For Marching Band Series" has a unique feature which allows the band director to customize the arrangement to fit their band in the lower voices. Each arrangement is published with two lower brass and woodwind parts, #1 and #2, printed in both bass and treble clefs. Also, an optional E Flat alto saxophone part is included which doubles the low brass and woodwind part #1. This will allow the band director to assign trombones, baritones, tenor saxes and even some alto saxes (if necessary) to balance the lower brass and woodwind sound. Composer(s): This piece was composed by Gary Peterson, Jim Kale, and Burton Cummings. Arranger(s): This piece was arranged by Jerry Kelsey. Publisher: This piece was published by Warner Brothers Publications. Series: This piece is part of the series "Warner Bros. Pops For Marching Band Series".
