Then, a graceful transition leads to the flowing middle section in the relative major, only to return back to the original theme for the fantastic finish. Open your next concert by taking your audience to "Grays Harbor"! Estimated Performance Time: 3:40 Technical Notes: "Grays Harbor March" was commissioned by the George B. Miller Junior High School in Aberdeen, Washingtion, for the 75th anniversary of the school. The first section, in the minor mode, should be played with much energy and careful attention to articulation markings to achieve the desired rhythmic vitality. The second section, in the relative major, should be more flowing in nature with the triplet patterns of its melody providing an effective contrast to the rhythmic motives of the first section. The final statement of this section should be full and majestic before the transition back to "Dal Segno". The tempo of this march should remain constant and should allow for the sixteenth note patterns to be played cleanly and evenly. The keyboard percussion part is labeled "Mallets (Xylophone, Bells)".
